Lighting simulator, room by room
See it before you buy: how many lumens, which shade of white and what CRI your room needs. For the details behind it: lumens vs watts, colour temperature, CRI, how much light per room.
Lighting simulator: lumens, Kelvin and CRI in a real room
Pick a room and move the sliders: the scene lights up as you go. Lumens set how much light you get (and how dark the corners stay), Kelvin sets the colour of the light, and CRI how true colours look.
Garage and workshop
Plenty of light, neutral or cool white, and a high CRI if you need to see detail: tools, markings, paint.
Living room and bedroom
Warm white at medium output, with a dimmer for the evening. Several light sources beat one bright ceiling light.
Where the figures come from
The ranges are based on usual illuminance levels (lux) multiplied by a typical floor area. Treat the result as a guide: a screen cannot reproduce real light exactly.
